TC Paul Update

The cyclone is currently close to the coast and is expected to move inland and weaken slightly early on Tuesday. On Wednesday it is likely the cyclone will move back into Gulf of Carpentaria where it may reintensify.

DESTRUCTIVE WINDS with gusts to 140 kilometres per hour are likely on the coast near Cape Shield as the cyclone moves inland.

GALES with gusts to 110 kilometres per hour are currently being experienced between Nhulunbuy and Numbulwar, including Groote Eylandt. GALES may extend north to Elcho Island and west to Milingimbi during Tuesday if the cyclone takes a more northerly track. GALES are likely to extend south to Port McArthur or possibly west to Maningrida during Wednesday, depending on the cyclone's future movement.

A STORM TIDE is expected between CAPE SHIELD and PORT ROPER. Tides are likely to rise significantly above the normal high tide, with DAMAGING WAVES and DANGEROUS FLOODING tonight and Tuesday.

HEAVY RAIN may lead to localised flooding and significant stream rises over the eastern Top End and northern Roper-McArthur Districts tonight and Tuesday.

We're on cyclone watch!

Friday night snap shots above & below

Saturday Night & today's paper front page story read 'We're on cyclone watch'.....@ about 6.30pm the first signs of rain started followed by lots of thunder & lighting. I tried to capture the lightning to show you. For 1. i'm not the best photographer 2. i hate reading the book to figure it out, like to be shown (anyone out there want to come teach me lol) so hence not getting very far with better pic's lol 3. was getting eaten alive by mossies the sign of march flies , so between slapping my legs, arms, face ouch and every other part of body I got these pic's to share. Will keep you up-to-date with a cyclone watch & if I'm not on here for 3 to 4 days you know we have been hit, lost power & probably could do with a hand to clean up..............lol enjoy & hopefully I'll get the camera thing sorted & have better pics real soon.......Neil has cyclone kit ready Nan so don't worry, the fridge is stock with Carlton Dry.....lol

My first 50 pics looked like this...........

They got slightly better.............

Then I went for the zoom so bit blurry...................

Still blurry will have to take the book to bed & study up

Till next time take care, stay safe, happy scrapp'n god bless......Rae xx

Victorian Velvet

Victorian Velvet Distress ink is just gorgeous, i love dusty pink so i was on a real winner with this one. I made the flowers from sticky back canvas and basically just inked all my embellishments. The possibilities are endless, with me it's just a time thing, not enough of it, maybe I need a household fairy lol

Butterfly Scrolls

Been playing & thought i would share.......... i have a bit of a thing at moment for tulle, here i used glimmer mist to change the colour

Is it going to stop!

Well it's big monsoonal rains for us in the Top End (GREAT Scrapp'n weather :-) ) , Friday we had 179mm & Saturday 131 mm and so far no sign of easing up 4 days & counting. We even have our own river system from the back of the property to the front, no Barra though & at this stage no croc's thank goodness.

Thought i would share some snap shots with you all (did ask Neil to run out and move the 2 palm prongs from the lawn as they were interfering in my pic - but he wouldn't be in it lol), that's as long as the power doesn't go out, haven't had much luck the last few days. I get all excited and want to post this and that as my blog is only new, just about get ready to upload it and woo and behold blackout ! Anyways i hope to get this one posted, so better stop rambling on and post it hey !
